Students bring home sales honors

Four Texas State students – Gena Pitts, Madison Boyer, Ian Neithercut and Matthew McMillian – represented The Center for Professional Sales Center from the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University at the 8th Annual International Collegiate Sales Competition held Nov. 7-11, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. Hosted by Florida State University, a member of the University Sales Center Alliance, the mission of the competition was to develop critical skills needed by today’s sales graduates and foster best practices among sales organizations worldwide.

The sponsor for the competition was Citrix Systems, a major cloud computing company. Citrix enables business mobility through the secure delivery of apps and data to any device on any network. The company is based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with annual revenues of over $2,82 billion revenues (2017). Garnering the 14th place team finish out of 77 universities for the Texas State University Sales Role Play team were Pitts and Boyer – both quarter-finalists in the role play competition. Neithercut and McMillian competed in the Sales Management Case Competition. The coach of the team, Wayne Noll said, “Our students have a tremendous work ethic, great attitude and are very competitive. They are highly sought sales candidates by major corporations.”
