Cuellar Defeats Challenger To Keep 28th District Seat

U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar wins his reelection bid to keep his seat in the 28th Congressional district. The Laredo Democrat defeated Republican challenger Sandra Whitten. Agents seize $670K in marijuana in northwest Laredo

U.S. Border Patrol agents prevented the smuggling attempt of $670,000 in marijuana in northwest Laredo, authorities said. On Monday afternoon, agents spotted a suspicious van approaching the riverbanks of the Rio Gande. U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Interstate 35 checkpoint seized approximately $3.9 million in black tar heroin, authorities said.
