Veterans work to get other veterans into housing in West Haven
Far too many veterans have no place to call home. Two Vietnam veterans in West Haven know that all too well and they are working to get their fellow vets off the streets.
These guys are pretty amazing. Al and Dennis met through training together, then shipped off to fight in Vietnam. Years later they ended up living in the same place here along the West Haven waterfront, and now they’re working on getting more veterans into housing.

Al and Dennis were both green berets in Vietnam. They became friends stateside during training, but ended up doing different jobs in the war. In the decades after the war, they ran into each other in West Haven once or twice, until one day they saw each other at Surfside. That’s a public housing apartment building for seniors.
