JoyRide Cycling + Fitness to Celebrate Five Years in Ridgefield!
Popular local fitness studio, JoyRide Cycling + Fitness, which first opened its doors in Ridgefield in January 2014, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Since 2014, JoyRide has become a fitness destination for Ridgefield locals, as well as those from surrounding areas. Known for its high-intensity indoor cycling classes, JoyRide also offers hybrid cycle-sculpt (off-the-bike) classes in the early mornings, afternoons and evenings. The flagship JoyRide studio was opened in Westport in 2012, followed by Darien and then Ridgefield and Wilton, as well as two in Texas.
Since opening its doors, JoyRide Ridgefield has been an entrenched part of the community — supporting local causes and charities with fundraising rides, donations, as well as offering a place for locals to enjoy challenging, yet fun workouts. JoyRide is also known as a welcoming destination to connect with others in the community.
Two years ago, JoyRide Ridgefield was remodeled and refurbished and one year ago, General Manager, Lauren Messina joined the team to run the studio. The combination of talented and inspiring instructors, a refreshed interior, the addition of 44 state-of-the-art Stages bikes, as well as Messina’s oversight /management led JoyRidgefield to its most successful year yet. Says Co-Founder and CEO, Amy Hochhauser, “This is just the beginning. The community in Ridgefield is enthusiastic, fitness-oriented and supportive, and we continue to be thrilled with the success of this location.” Adds Messina, a former nurse, “When I came on board, I was an avid JoyRider and hadn’t considered working in the fitness industry, but it just made sense. Having the ability to help make an impact on the business has been beyond fulfilling.” Adds Co-Founder and Creative Director, Rhodie Lorenz “The studio is so dynamic! There is an incredible amount of talent here. With some instructors having been here since the beginning and others who have joined more recently, each one brings something different and special to the Ridgefield team. Changes to the schedule, as well as the instructors teaching with new and challenging formats, keep it all fun and exciting!”
JoyRide Ridgefield will celebrate its fifth year in town on Saturday, January 26 from 7:15 a.m. – 12 noon with celebratory rides, massages from Medicinal Skin, a flash sale for ride attendees, refreshments and raffle prizes from local businesses.
