Norfolk Hub Announces Corona Precautions
Coronavirus and Social Distancing Response
The Norfolk Hub offers the following response regarding the Coronavirus and Social Distancing practices for our Hub Members, Friends and Staff:
First, in order to promote safe social distancing practices, we are postponing all Hub events for the remainder of March. Stay tuned to our weekly email (Norfolk Hub – Ideas Into Action) for additional updates as well as regularly checking our website and social media accounts. All events scheduled for April (and listed in the April edition of Norfolk Now) are subject to postponement based on continuing CDC recommendations.
Second, Hub members are still able to use the Hub before/after hours as needed, but we will be cancelling all scheduled conference room meetings for the remainder of March. If you need assistance with arranging a virtual meeting, please contact the Hub.
Third, we will have hand sanitizer dispensers available for you as you enter the Hub and will offer sanitizing wipes for you to clean off work surfaces before/after use. Staff will also take good care to wipe down surfaces, door knobs and handles, tables, and chairs as needed.
Next, we will be suspending the Hub Mug Coffee Club until further notice.
Finally, if you are interested in reserving a private office, please do not use the online reservation system, instead you should contact Dawn Whalen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 860-542-7185 x251 to make your private office reservation. Given that we only have two private offices and the demand I’m seeing already, we will limit its use to a maximum of two days per person per week for the foreseeable future. Cost for non-members is $10 for up to 4 hours use; $15 for the whole day (8 hours max). Our Open Main space (with 4 work tables and a variety of couches/chairs) is FREE and available for use as often as you see fit during our regular operating hours. This is an appropriate option when you don’t have a need for a private space.
To learn more about CDC recommendations regarding the coronavirus, please visit the CDC website.
Unless it becomes necessary to alter our schedule, the Hub will remain open for regular operating hours, albeit in its limited use.
Please consider refraining from using the Hub:
if you fall within High Risk group
if you are not feeling well
if you have been exposed to someone who is not feeling well or has come down with the virus.
Please call us at 860-542-7185 if you have any questions.
Thank you for your cooperation as we implement these precautionary measures! If it becomes necessary to make additional adjustments, you will be the first to know.
