Hartford Live 2019
The Greater Hartford Arts Council partnered with the City of Hartford on a new program entitled “Hartford Live!” Before and after every Hartford Yard Goats and Hartford Athletic home game for the remainder of the season, attendees were treated to a variety of performing arts, including Bucket Drumming, Breakdancing, Caribbean Dancing, and Flow Arts.
This new initiative aimed to encourage visitors and residents to engage with these free performances, and provides exposure for up and coming artists to large game-day crowds. The arts are just one way the city makes people feel welcome, and the goal of Hartford Live! is to connect people to the city’s arts culture in a new way.
Performers include the newly named Hartford Bucket Brigade, a rotating cast of musicians including Jocelyn Pleasant, Kirk Woodard, and Max Meether; Caribbean American Dance Company; hip hop dancer and choreographer Lili St. Amand and a crew of breakers; fire spinning by Andrea Cortez of Tainted, Inc.
